I'm always amazed at the selection at Fishtown Seafood!! Brian and his staff are also extremely knowledgeable and happy to recommend items and suggest cooking recommendations. We are thankful to have the highest quality seafood in the neighborhood. Couldn't recommend this shop enough!! I've had and often purchase the raw ahi tuna, lobster, shelled shrimp, scallops, onigiri, and mussels.

The grab and go section is unmatched. The quality of product is top tier and sourced responsibly. Staff extremely knowledgeable.

Great quality seafood! Very fresh. The three stars is due to the unfriendly staff. They seem annoyed when asked for recommendations… maybe I’ve had bad luck, but it’s so consistent I avoid asking.

I’ve only had the onigiri and they were not good at all and expensive ($8/piece). The seafood was decent but they were placed in the fridge, which was weird but gave it a shot, and yeah the fridge totally dried out the rice. Can’t have dried out rice in an onigiri, totally ruined it. The packaging with a sticker on the back where you’re supposed to split it in half also made it challenging and not ideal. There are much better and cheaper onigiri in the city.

I first met Bryan through work, when I was trying to figure out which businesses were truly sustainable in philly (there's a lot of greenwashing out there!). Fishtown Seafood is on a level of their own - I have learned so much from Bryan, and that's largely because he's so generous with his time and his knowledge. He offers what I think Philly does so well and needs more of: someone who really knows his stuff, running an incredible neighborhood business, coming from and guided by a real human being with heart. He's a member of the community that makes more community, and someone who makes what matters happen. Could not recommend more highly. Oh! And some of the most sustainable (and delicious) seafood products you can buy.
